What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industry Manager: Semicon and Hydrogen position at Pilz Automation Safety?
The Industry Manager will focus on the sale of safe automation solutions within the designated industries of Semicon and Hydrogen. The Industry Manager will work locally across all business functions as well as globally to define and execute the market strategy to address customer automation needs specific to the designated industry.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, create and execute the market strategy for the designated industries in collaboration with marketing, sales, key account management, product management and engineering as well as global peers
- Identify target customers and key contacts, foster relationships at strategic customers
- Deepen and expand relationships with new and existing customers becoming a trusted partner to help develop and build their automation roadmap
- Prepare and execute strategic marketing plans including definition of total, product and channel accessible markets based on target industries and geography
- Define and measures KPIs such as market share and price levels
- Track and report customer and competitor activities and trends
- Define value proposition and create relevant sales and marketing material to ensure accurate, relevant and personalized presentations which successfully promote Pilz systems & solutions to customers
- Conduct competitive analysis and development of fighting guides relevant to the systems and solutions sold into the industries
- Analyze market level prices and development of pricing guidelines
- Coordinate and participate in trade shows
- Coordinate and conduct workshops
- Consolidate product gaps and formulate future requirements in coordination with Product Management to help drive future product and technology roadmaps
- Define and drive development of market specific solutions in collaboration with Sales, Engineering and Product Management; coordinate development with global peers
- Monitor and report local patent activities and issues
- Participate in industry associations, steering committees and standards groups
- Other duties as assigned
Travel required up to 50% primarily domestic with some international
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience in automation sales, strategic marketing, or product management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Previous experience in the automation industry
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to speak to large groups of people
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Ability to accumulate and demonstrate technical knowledge
- Self-motivated with a high level of autonomy
- Well-organized and team oriented
- Customer focused, reliable and dependable with the highest level of integrity
Desired Qualifications:
- MBA in combination with a technical degree
- Ten years’ work experience with a background in engineering, product management and/or strategic marketing
- Proven influencing and collaboration skills and ability to work in a matrix organization
- Previous experience in the Semicon and/or Hydrogen industry
- Proven ability in discussing technical as well as commercial aspects of project completion from shop floor to boardroom with key stakeholders including internal teams and colleagues
