What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice Solar Energy Installer position at Pine Energy?
Job Description
Pine Energy performs mechanical and DC scopes of work on ground mount and rooftop solar installations throughout the country. We are currently seeking installers based in Virginia for work in the southeast region of the United States. These installers would be welcomed into our apprenticeship program, which lasts 18 months and provides a Construction Craft Laborer journeyman status at the end of the program.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install solar array in rooftop and ground mount installations;
- Install solar panel racking;
- Install solar panels;
- Perform wire management of solar panel wires;
- Read construction plans;
- Provide tools and equipment for work;
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements; and
- Complete coursework in OSHA safety and construction laborer work.
Requirements of Qualification:
- Experience in construction;
- Knowledge of Unirac, Aerocompact, OMCO Solar, IronRidge, ATI, and Terrasmart systems is a plus;
- Proficiency in reading designs, plans, and equipment specifications;
- Physical ability to work on your feet and lift heavy loads;
- Ability to work on roofs with heights of one, two, or three stories;
- Willingness to work in outside conditions;
- High school graduate; and
- Ability to pass criminal background and DMV check.
