Job Summary:
The Chain Manager directs and leads the overall effort to maximize sales, distribution, and profitability for designated chain accounts throughout the State of Maine. The Chain Manager works with buyers of chain accounts to grow sales and communicates those execution plans to the Pine State sales team. The Chain Manager is also responsible for compliance with company standards and policies in all areas impacted by the assigned division.
- Execute and achieve goals and objectives for sales and product distribution based on direction from Pine State senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability, and efficiencies within the designated chain accounts.
- Work with the Director of Sales Strategy on priority brands and items to ensure alignment before presenting to buyers.
- Schedule/prepare meetings with chain buyers including sales reports, sell sheets, and PowerPoint presentations.
- Provide pricing communication to chain buyers in a timely manner. Ensure key posted items are reflected at retail.
- Work with supplier Key Account Managers to ensure new items get into stores in a timely manner and our collective key objectives are met.
- Communicate with sales team on upcoming programs via email and activity overviews.
- Provide market and competitive information to sales team as it pertains to sales strategy decisions.
- Work with Area Managers and District Managers to ensure activity is executed and provide feedback to the Director of Field Sales on program execution.
- Conduct in-trade audits of chains to ensure agreed upon activity is executed and retails are correct.
- Communicate regularly with Pine State managers, customers, and sales team to stay current on market-wide business trends and developments.
- Ensure optimal and maximum utilization of promotional programs and company resources.
- Use Space Planning software to build and edit plan-o-grams used by chains.
Qualifications:
- College degree preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of beverage sales industry.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills along with presentation skills.
- Knowledge of computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed, including late nights and weekends.
- Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.
Physical Requirements:
- Regular and sustained periods of exertion requiring ability to lift carry and position product using proper body mechanics.
- Significant periods of time spent sitting in vehicle, traveling to accounts within assigned territory.
- Exposure to variety of environmental conditions: weather, temperature, lighting, and noise as determined by driving conditions.
