Description
We are looking for a highly talented attorney who will support our United States legal department on regulatory and corporate matters. You will also need to work with other global teams. As a growing company, you would be a critical component of the U.S. legal function and a strong self-starter, with exceptional writing skills, and quick on your feet. You would work with colleagues across multiple business functions and all over the world, with primary responsibilities including:
- Reviewing products, features, platforms, and initiatives to provide and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as payments, e-commerce, AML, data security, data privacy, consumer protection and other legal frameworks applicable to PingPong products.
- Providing commercial support to PingPong’s U.S. product, BD and sales team;
- Supporting the PingPong compliance function with practical and effective advice concerning financial services regulations, including regulations around, e.g., anti-money laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, state money transmission rules, and sanctions/OFAC compliance, export control; and
- Assisting on other internal matters as necessary or advisable, including inter-company arrangements, HR/labor matters and corporate governance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) or equivalent degree, with New York bar membership active and in good standing.
- At least 6 years of experience practicing either in-house or at a law firm, preferred those with regulatory experience in payment industry.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to deliver risk-adjusted practical advice to stakeholders across the business.
- Outstanding interpersonal, written and oral communication, and negotiation skills.
- Comfort in and flexibility with working in ambiguity as the business grows.
