Salary: $55-85 per hour on W2
Job Description:
- The role of the Strategy Analyst is to provide subject matter expertise, analysis, and creativity to support C&I program planning and implementation efforts.
The Strategy Analyst may be asked to contribute to the following EE initiatives, depending on the expertise and interests of the candidate, (s)he may work on the following initiatives:
- Small business
- Workforce development
- Demand response
- Forward capacity market
- New construction
- Marketing (program websites and applications forms/portal)
- Specific technologies (lighting, HVAC, controls, combined heat & power, weatherization, etc.)
- Pilots, Demos, Assessments (new measures)
Responsibilities are likely to include:
- Program design: Develop and revise program offerings and go-to-market strategy.
- Incentive planning: Capturing market data on measure-specific pricing and proposing incentive adjustments to balance savings achievement vs costs, making prudent use of ratepayer funds.
- Discovery: Draft written responses to information requests issued by regulators during review of the EE plans. This requires tracking down historic information and in company files, regulatory filings, etc. The Strategy Analyst may also be asked to provide expert testimony on these issues.
- Data analysis: Analyze EE savings, incentives, program costs, evaluation results, and market trends to optimize and report on the C&I portfolio of programs. Analyses contribute to annual plans filed with regulators, annual reports, design of new initiatives, additional measure offerings, and more.
- Writing: Author and revise program plans and reports to regulators.
- Stakeholder management: Communicate, negotiate, and manage expectations with key external stakeholders regarding program details and progress.
- Implementation: Ensure qualitative commitments are implemented by company. Track progress toward commitments and key performance indicators.
- New/revamped measures: Design or redesign measure-specific offerings. Current areas of focus include energy management systems, building envelope and insulation, and retro-commissioning.
- Vendor procurement: Collaborate with Procurement and Program Management teams to procure vendors and negotiate contracts.
- Presentations: Deliver presentations detailing C&I initiatives.
Key Qualifications:
- Quantitative analysis, regulatory support, written and oral communication skills, creativity, curiosity, willingness to read regulatory and policy documents, ability to come up to speed quickly on complex issues.
- 5-10 years’ experience in the energy industry.
