The Clinical Project Manager (CPM) role could be focused on partnering with a number of key clients across a variety of programs.  

This individual will need an entrepreneurial spirit, deep clinical trial project management experience, preferably from a pharma/CRO perspective, and a mature business presence to successfully engage with internal and external business partners. 

The following roles and responsibilities entail most of what this role may be asked to do, but could possibly expand based on the individual’s and organization’s needs.  

Roles and Responsibilities

Clinical Project Management

  • Develop detailed project plans including deliverables, capability needed, and budgets
  • Track progress across internal and external deliverables and provide insight into task priority, on-time delivery, project feasibility, budget, etc.
  • Identify and manage project risks as appropriate
  • Steward the project management system
  • Ability to drive deliver on all aspects of clinical trials including: site start up, recruiting, clinical monitoring, etc.

Communication

  • Effectively communicate across academic and industry leaders, and key partners
  • Liaise both internally and externally to ensure projects deliver on-time and everyone understand current status
  • Liaise with clinical trial sites
  • Partner internally and externally to solve challenges and issues
  • Ensure seamless communication across the entire program

Vendor Management

  • Research, identify, and potentially qualify vendors
  • Communicate and manage vendor relationships
  • Partner and engage with vendors/ contract employees to direct work across appropriate projects

Additional Responsibilities

  • Drive operational meetings including agenda, facilitation, and minutes
  • May support broader partner work and initiatives beyond this program

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Candidates should have a 4-year college degree, at least 5 yrs clinical project management experience, able to lead others through influence, and be technically savvy. The preferred candidate will have experience in organizing, leading, and driving change. Candidates could have a background in a variety of functional areas/ clinical development.

Candidates need to thrive in a dynamic, service-minded, entrepreneurial environment. Business maturity and effective communication skills are required as the role will engage with key academic thought leaders and corporate executives. Candidates should desire to be part of a collaborative team of professionals and be interested in continually learning and developing.
