Doctor referrals are the lifeline to medical practice, and a physician liaison’s key role is to grow physician referrals and connect the medical practice with their local healthcare community. A City Hospital at White Rock physician liaison serves as a representative for the doctor, medical practice, or hospital. As a representative, they bridge the gap of communication between referring doctors and specialty physicians. While doctors focus on delivering high-quality patient care and treatments the liaison will visit with referring physicians on behalf of the referred doctor.
During provider liaison visits, they meet with referring doctors to discuss patient care, referrals, new treatments, and thank them for existing referrals. They speak with the referring medical practice and doctor. A physician liaison will inform the doctor of any news of the hospital and provide referring doctors and their medical staff with a direct form of communication. A highly successful physician liaison will represent all aspects of the medical center, they will be highly trained, as well as, educated with the practice treatments and specialty physicians.
Summary: As a Physician Liaison, you’ll establish and maintain ongoing relationships between the CHWR, the providers and the community, as well as to educate the community about the hospital inpatient, outpatient and ambulatory services. Utilize consultative sales strategies to best determine key target referral sources and develop a systematic approach to build customer relationships. Establish strategic marketing and business development plans to execute activities directed toward increasing appropriate patient referrals and CHWR revenue.
Responsibilities:
- Increase admissions, surgeries, and outpatient visits
- Increase patient referrals from referring doctors
- Maintain, monitor, and update the list of Physician Practice(s) within a given radius of the hospital.
- Actively seek new relationships and strengthen existing physician referral relationships to expand local physician network.
- Meets with local practices, hospital administrators, physicians, and clinical directors to Introduce CHWR to local referring physicians
- Provides business cards and other patient referral collateral to referring physicians, hospitals, and practices.
- Helps organize and schedule necessary physician meetings
- Provide a superior customer experience for medical practices
- Works with Marketing team to develop and use tools that promote our Mission, Vision and Services
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
- Relevant experience or building professional relationships with medical providers
- 5 years of experience with proven record of pharmaceutical, physician or medical sales experience, preferred
- Successfully demonstrated meeting quotas/goals. Ability to work in Excel, Word, Power point, and CMS systems
- Ability to learn, analyze, understand and convey complex information
- Excellent written and verbal, communication skills, including ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
- Strong attention to detail, clinical/medical acumen and excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize necessary resources, including people, tools and time to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results
- Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle for transportation
Qualifications:
