Events Programming Intern
Organization: Pittsburgh Earth Day (501(c)3 Nonprofit)
Location: Hybrid (with mandatory in-person attendance at events in the fall semester)
Hours: Approximately 2-3 hours per week and 3-4 events ranging from 4 hours to 8 hours each
Description:
Pittsburgh Earth Day is seeking a motivated Events Programming Intern to support our team with in-person events this fall/winter 2024 semester. This role will primarily assist with upcoming events for Pittsburgh Earth Day and collaborate with local partners. The intern will play a key role in conducting industry research, building contact lists, and aiding in various aspects of event programming and production.
Responsibilities:
- Event Support: Provide assistance for in-person events, ensuring smooth execution and adherence to event schedules.
- Industry Research: Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to support event planning and development.
- Contact List Assistance: Conduct research to build contact lists to support the Public Relations Manager with outreach and engagement.
- Programming Development: Assist the Program Manager in the development and enhancement of event programming.
- On-Site Production: Support the Events Manager with on-site event production, including setup, coordination, and troubleshooting during events.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of event planning and production processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Enthusiasm for sustainability and community-focused events is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
