Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking over 600 meals per day, managing the kitchen staff, and ensuring that our culinary operations run smoothly. This role requires someone who is not only a culinary expert but also willing to roll up their sleeves and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare daily menus, ensuring a variety of nutritious and delicious meals.
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals, maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs effectively.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement new recipes and menu items.
- Perform cleaning duties as needed, including but not limited to, washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and maintaining overall kitchen cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Exceptional culinary skills with a passion for food and creativity in menu planning.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle the pressure of high meal volumes.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Willingness to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification is preferred but not required.
