Assistant EEO Officer
The P J Dick-Trumbull-The Lindy Group family of construction companies seeks to hire an Assistant EEO Officer to assist with ensuring that our EEO Program meets the Federal and State government regulations commonly referred to as the "Sixteen Affirmative Action Steps for Construction Contractors."

Primary Responsibilities :
- Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Companies' compliance with all applicable laws related to equal employment opportunities (EEO) including, but not limited to, affirmative action, diversity initiatives, employee civil rights, personnel relations issues, and fulfilling any action steps identified in our EEO self-audit.
- Ensure a discrimination-free, harassment-free environment for employees, management, business partners, and third parties.
- Manage and monitor the companies' equal opportunity and compliance activities, oversees the companies' equal opportunity and employee handbook policies, responds to complaints / grievances, conducts investigations, develops, and delivers training and professional development to all employees, as well as provides consultation to supervisors and managers regarding equal opportunity requirements, concerns, and initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the area of human resources, labor relations, or other related field;
- Experience conducting investigations or dispute mitigation and / or resolution including preparation of investigative reports and making determinations of policy violations.
- Must effectively manage conflict, be able to negotiate with individuals through verbal and written communication and be able to influence and effect change with excellent problem-solving skills with proven experience providing education, training, and / or professional development to a wide range of audiences.
- Must work effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels across companies and be able to manage rapidly changing priorities.
- Must possess strong critical thinking and data analysis skills and be organized with documentation, record-keeping, and time-management.
- Must understand the importance and embrace a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB), and assist with DEI strategies across companies.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience as an EEO Officer or in a similar role within an HR Department and / or the construction industry that includes experience conducting EEO-related complaint investigation, internal auditing and reporting about AA / EEO Plan compliance, and training to all levels of employees.
- Possess an in-depth knowledge of Federal and State EEO / Affirmative Action laws and regulations, and a strong working knowledge of an HR regulatory environment, including EEOC regulations, talent acquisition, workforce development, and community outreach strategies.
