Program Manager
Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in Vance, AL within the automotive manufacturing industry.
Program Manager Job Summary:
· $95-115k/yr
· Monday- Friday 8am-5pm
· Analyze the Sales forecast at an aggregate volume level for the current year and future years to translate the Sales and market demands into a production program plan for Plant Tuscaloosa. Serve as a communication link between Sales HQ in Germany and the plant.
· As and when market demands change (Program requests through central Sales), analyze deviations to create and manage complex planning studies to develop and adapt program plans that meet the market requirements for the present and future.
· Develops strategies and proposes plans to achieve long term production goals (Operative Planning - 3 years and Strategic Planning - 10 year windows).
· Represent plant Tuscaloosa in cross-plant discussions conducted out of Germany (Program Planning Round (PPR) / Tactical Program discussion (TPD) / Medium term program discussion MPD)) around market demands to confirm that the demands can be fulfilled or address any specific concerns. As needed participate in the central turntable discussions to determine the production split for the common carlines across plants.
· Lead cross-functional discussions with different departments to develop and align an overall planning methodology taking into account the different production shop capacities (Body, Paint, 2 Assembly shops), their constraints, supplier capacities and any relevant workforce strategies in alignment with HR.
· Based on cross-functional alignment, develop the production program plan from the monthly volume down to daily and a shift-by-shift plan taking into account available work time, shop efficiencies and model mix for the different car lines to ensure achievable targets to fulfill the production program plan.
· Leads scenario creation to evaluate impact of changes to program plan for review and alignment with Management Team.
· Manages communication flow with all departments regarding production program targets for all production areas and also with supplier management teams to ensure that the plant program can be supported at the supply base as well.
· Leads the alignment with the production control group to provide input for creation of the operational plan for optimal management of internal plant buffers - Automatic storage and retrieval system (ASRS).
· Manages the production program in all Daimler systems - Excel for scenario generation for upper management review, PPL for official program creation and submission to e-World production program (eWPP) in Germany, PBK system for program alignment before PPR / TPD, PLUS / MRS for uploading and tracking program actuals against planned targets.
· Propose strategies to adjust the production program after month end based on production gains or losses with the goal of achieving the annual production program. Incorporate the aligned strategy into the production plan.
· Manage data, create reports and prepare presentations for all levels of management.
Program Manager Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration or related field
· Minimum of 2 years experience in program management
· Minimum of 2 years experience in automotive manufacturing
· Proficient in MS Office(Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint)
· Data Analysis experience
· Working knowledge of DIALOG, TBE, Vokus, eWPP, PLUS, MRS preferred
