Planate Management Group is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, USA with a technical support center in the Philippines that provides program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.
Planate will provide the VA Capitol Health Care Network (VISN 5) the support services in construction field inspections, space planning/allocations, and drawing management. The support services are required to meet the increasing demands currently being experienced by the VISN 5 VA Health Care Service. This position is contingent on the award of the contract.
The Specification Writer will interpret architectural, engineering and interior design plans to prepare standards and workmanship criteria, material and equipment list and specifications for building construction activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Determine the needs of end-users, plan, gather relevant information, analyze documents, and references
- Analyze related designs and plan drawings
- Provide support in establishing list and guidelines
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as needed.
Qualifications to be successful in the role:
- Associate’s Degree or graduate of an accredited trade school or formal construction apprenticeship program
- The education requirement may be substituted by eight years of directly related experience
- At least five years of experience in construction and/or engineering work environment interfacing and coordinating with A/E staff responsible for facility design and construction requirements
- Knowledgeable in specification software
- With a technical background in interfacing with engineers and construction professionals
- Medical center experience highly preferred
- Exceptional technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Must be US Citizen
