This position is located at our new Pittsburg, Kansas Health Center and will be a key team member responsible for opening a new health center. Reporting to the Health Center Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the co-supervision of day-to day clinical operations, supporting high-quality, patient-focused care delivery which includes abortion services. Additionally, the incumbent ensures the efficient flow of clinic operations and provides administrative leadership to all staff and patient service areas. Supports and carries out PPGP’s Mission:  upholding the standard for providing high quality sexual and reproductive health care; providing education that promotes informed proud and authentic sexuality; changing the culture through proactive advocacy to ensure equality in reproductive and sexual decision-making.


Work Week - 37.5 hours

Starting Range: $49,000 - $60,000 annual salary based on experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Initially will be a member of the startup team which includes facilities, risk management, human resources, and health services administration members to finalize and execute the health center opening plan.
  • Oversees all front office business functions, including outstanding customer service delivery, the completion of insurance verifications, and manages in-office billing and fee collections.
  • Creates a culture of exceptional customer service by continually exceeding patient expectations, properly maintaining and cultivating positive relationships with patients, clinicians and fellow employees.
  • Learns and performs all duties of clinic support staff and helps cover in the event of absences.
  • Monitors health center flow and strives to maximize efficiencies and productivity.
  • Ensures accurate completion of health center records and coordinates documentation.
  • Responds to questions from patients and insurance companies regarding patient visits and billing.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all agency information, employee nonpublic personal information (NPI) and personal health information (PHI).
  • In absence of the Health Center Manager, ensures that the Medical Director, Vice President of Health Services, and Director of Compliance and Quality Risk Management, and other medical management teams as needed, are aware of health center incidents and/or occurrences. Ensures health center staff understand and comply with reporting guidelines.
  • Periodically completes monthly chart audits and turns the report in by close of business Friday, the first week of the following month.
  • Assures staff and company compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations relating to care delivery.
  • Achieves clinic goals and objectives including financial, customer service and productivity.
  • In the absence of the health center manager, manages daily activities of a health care team that includes RN’s, LPN’s and clinic support staff.  Monitors patient flow and maximizes efficiencies and productivity by adjusting workflow and staffing.  Integrates front office operations with the patient service areas to deliver superior patient experience.
  • In manager's absence, conducts daily staff huddles periodic staff meetings and one-on-ones meetings to insure everyone is informed and current on affiliate news and performance expectations. 
  • Effectively models positive customer services and is responsive to patient needs and concerns.  Assesses and addresses patient complaints and provides appropriate referrals including but not limited to knowing when to escalate complaints within the organization and to whom.  Takes remedial action when appropriate.
  • Ensures accurate completion of patient visit records and manages documentation.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all agency information, employee nonpublic personal information (NPI) and personal health information (PHI), as well as records directly or indirectly identifying any per­son currently or formerly receiving services from PPGP.

Qualifications
  • Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree and one to two years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervisory experience in a health or clinical health care settings
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, experience with high-volume medical or clinical practice environments in which customer service and satisfaction are priorities
  • Preferred
  • Administrative experience in an ambulatory surgical center or reproductive health services clinic, hospital or other related clinical setting, and two years supervisory experience
