This is a salaried position working between 55-60 hours per week.
Plastic Welding and Fabrication is a family-owned business in Buda, that was established in 2003. The owner is present daily and has about 24 years of experience in the industry. We build processing tanks for the hot-dip galvanizing industry, aluminum anodizing industry and plating companies. Our desire is to employ an individual that will take ownership of the shop, direct its functions, collaborate with the owner build, relations with the shop employees and grow with the company.
PWF is seeking an experienced, long term Shop Manager that can lead, facilitate, organize and oversee the daily operation and safety of our shops. We expect you to have deep know-how in production procedures. Ability to direct personnel towards maximum performance will set you apart as a leader. Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of your day. The goal is to ensure an efficient, safe, and productive manufacturing process that meets customer requirements and deadlines.
Requirements:
· Previous proven experience as a Shop / Production Manager.
· Vast knowledge of welding machinery and equipment.
· Basic maintenance skills.
· Ability to understand design, sketches, drawings, and schematics.
· Must have a clean driving record and have ability to travel.
· Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts.
· Excellent organizational and Leadership skills is a must.
· Inventory of all direct / indirect materials to ensure no interruptions in production.
· Supervise and evaluate performance of all production personal.
· Conduct safety meetings monthly.
· Special projects as assigned.
· Transform work area by increasing production, reducing turnover, eliminating waste, and enhancing quality.
· Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds.
· Strong knowledge of OSHA rules and standards.
The right fit will have strong leadership abilities directing 15-20 employees in staying on task, enforcing safety protocols, attendance, timeliness, and quality assurance. This person will work closely with our current project manager and the owner to provide an organized business operation. As a Shop manager your expectations daily will fluctuate, and you will need to be flexible with your schedule and focus.
Duties:
· Ensuring that the shop floor has necessary manpower, competence, skill, knowledge, and tooling required to achieve production targets.
· Work directly with the owner to prepare work production schedules.
· Approve maintenance work, purchasing of equipment etc.
· Ensure output meets our quality standards.
· Enforce health and safety precautions.
· Promote employee safety awareness resulting in zero injuries.
· Arrive at faciality before other employees to start machinery and open doors, hours will vary.
· Organize workflow to meet deadline.
· Operate forklift safely and train employees for forklift certification.
· Assist and organize unloading and loading of 18 wheelers, box trucks and flatbed trucks.
· Enforce strict cell phone policy.
· Learn how to Plastic Weld.
· Enforce wearing all provided PPE. SAFETY MATTERS.
