What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pianist position at Plateau Community Church?

1. The Pianist/Director at Plateau Methodist church has responsibilities for the selection, rehearsal, and performance of preludes, offertories, postludes and other special music as required by the order of worship prepared by the pastor. These elements apply to all choir groups which now exist or may develop.
2. The Pianist/Director will rehearse and perform anthems or congregational hymns weekly with Choir.
3. The Pianist/Director will be available for our Sunday morning service and special services such as funerals and/or weddings and will work with those responsible for the services in providing appropriate music as required.
4. The Pianist/Director will, at all times, maintain a professional and reverent attitude.
She/he will provide professional leadership individually or collectively, as required.
5. The Pianist/Director will have four paid vacation Sundays per year. She/he will be responsible for securing a vacation replacement (Church will compensate replacement at the going rate). She/He will be evaluated annually by the Staff-Parish Relations Committee.
6. A new Pianist/Director will be hired on a three month trial basis, at present salary. If warranted, an increase in salary will be considered by the Church Council, upon recommendation of the Staff-Parish relations Committee.
7. A six week notice and letter of resignation will be required upon a decision to leave their directorship.

Pay: $7,000.00 - $16,000.00 per year
