The Quality Assurance Lead oversees Quality Assurance Inspector activities, including the inspection of products and the scheduling/assignment of QA Inspectors on the floor. Responsible for the performance and leading of the Quality Assurance Inspector staff. Key Job Accountabilities: Assign work assignments based on daily department needs, ensure quality products are produced and achieve department metrics. Conduct human resource activities which may include approving time off, conducting performance appraisals, coaching and disciplinary action and maintaining company policies and procedures. Provides mentoring, leadership and direction for those you oversee. Effectively communicate daily schedules, goals, quality issues/concerns between shifts to ensure customer expectations are met. Follow proper escalation process when necessary. Ensure individuals are trained to the appropriate assembly build instructions and ensures personnel are compliant with all applicable SFT training requirements. Intelligently flex those you oversee to meet customer schedules based on training and skill sets. Additional Accountabilities: Ensures goals and objectives are achieved pertaining to the accuracy of quality determinations and internal and external escapes. Partners with Production Leads to delegate and coordinate day-to-day assignments of the QA Inspectors. Develops the QA Inspectors by coaching and training, including disciplinary action and performance management. Performs audits to ensure quality objectives are met. Assists with implementation of Corrective and Preventative Actions. Successfully uses Plexus systems including, but not limited to: GSF, Agile, Specifications/Work Instructions, ECOs/Deviations, Workday. Manages team training requirements. Creates and implements continuous improvement strategies for quality assurance inspection. Additional duties as assigned. Education/Experience Qualifications: A minimum of a High School diploma is required; an Associate’s degree in Engineering related, Quality Management or similar field is preferred. Three (3) years of related experience is preferred. IPC-A-610 CIS certification is required. Intermediate manufacturing experience, including knowledge of workmanship standards, is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered. Other Qualifications: Operate as a team leader, coordinate staff scheduling Advanced decision making and problem solving skills Inspection skills Knowledge of PCBA and HLA product builds Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information Must complete training for and become certified for Quality Assurance within six months of obtaining the position and must maintain QA certification to remain in the position Intermediate computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite Intermediate data analysis and presentation skills May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time General office equipment and materials Ability to work C Shift (6am - 6pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday) Work Environment: The work setting should consist of a manufacturing environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a moderate noise level.
