NATURE AND SCOPE: Operate harvest equipment in a safe manner maximizing product quality and quantity. This position reports directly to the Crew Leader, as well as the Field Mechanic and Field Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate harvest equipment in a safe manner at all times.
- Watch for glass and other foreign material that could be hazardous to the product.
- Keep harvester cab clean (free of garbage & other debris).
- Observe all traffic laws when driving harvest equipment on road moves.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
- Learn, understand and observe all Company policies, rules and procedures.
- Practice and observe the principles of a respectful workplace at all times.
- Learn, comprehend, and comply with good manufacturing practices and policies as set forth in the employee handbook.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:·
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Good communication skills; must be able to communicate through the use of radios; must be able to communicate/interact verbally with the Mechanics and Supervisors.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Maintain a good attendance record.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Ability to work seven (7) days a week for 12 hours per shift.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Sit, bend, twist, squat, climb ladders & stairs, push/pull and walk continuously.
- Lift and carry up to 20 lbs occasionally.
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Work outside in a loud, cool, and/or hot environment.
- Working around moving equipment.
- Exposed to wet and/or humid, hot or cold conditions.
