The Vice President (VP), Accounting leads all Point B accounting functions including general accounting, technical accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, accounts payable/receivable, and cash. The VP, Accounting partners with the CFO to provide visibility into financial performance and assesses risks and opportunities compared to firm strategic objectives. The VP oversees the production of consolidated financial statements for internal and external constituencies and ensures they are compliant with regulations and requirements; coordinates the completion of various internal and external audits and related reports; and develops and implements policies to safeguard assets. The VP thrives on digging in, ensuring the accounting and financials are foundationally accurate, and setting up the necessary processes, structure, and technology to support rapid growth and potential future organizational structure changes.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
Oversees the general accounting function, including Inter-company accounting, Cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, Balance sheet management
Provides technical accounting GAAP guidance and support to all company entities, including involvement in due diligence and other activities surrounding acquisitions/dispositions
Responsible for proper timing and application of revenue recognition rules, working in partnership with sales and customer-facing teams. This currently entails a real-time review of each instrument order and its terms for changes needed and determination of proper timing of revenue recognition
Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP
Reviews monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure compliance
Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
Oversees activities supporting budgeting/forecasting and variance analyses
Manages, develops, coaches, and leads a team of high performing accounting members, ensuring that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel capable of meeting the objectives and responsibilities
Manages the accounting department toward efficient and value-added processes and interacts effectively with all levels of the organization
Makes hiring, promotion, compensation, and termination decisions for the accounting team
Develops leaders through performance management, consistent feedback, and development opportunities that help them achieve their professional goals
Ensures leadership continuity with succession planning and ongoing leadership development
Develops employees’ professional skills and provides career mentorship
Grows and develops personal leadership skills
Builds and manages a versatile team that can share information and quickly and effectively pivot to meet emerging business and operational needs
Upholds and models our leadership and culture tenets and values

WHAT WE EXPECT YOU’VE ALREADY DONE:
B.A. or B.S. in Accounting or Finance or related field
CPA
Public Accounting (Big Four or large regional firm preferred)
Large financial system experience
10-15 years of experience (an accelerated career with progression preferred)
Experience with project / cost-based accounting (preferred)
Experience working in a PE backed, high growth and acquisitive organization on the mid/large revenue size (preferred)
Clear path of stable progressive growth
Strong desire for success in a fast-moving organization
