About the Job: The Shipping Supervisor supports the Shipping/Warehouse Manager and assists in the management of the activities of the Shipping Department. That department is responsible for receiving, shipping, material handling and inventory control. The supervisor directs and works with department employees to ensure the accurate and timely execution of all activities of the department. This position must be detail oriented, organized, safety conscious and able to multi-task, meet deadlines and work well in a fast paced, high-growth environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support Shipping/Warehouse Manager in daily work activities.
2. Sign for inbound deliveries and verify quantities and products.
3. Pull, stage, scan orders, verify quantities and products for LTL/FTL and UPS/FEDEX carrier pickup.
4. Oversee and assist with loading and unloading of shipments.
5. Schedule carriers and 3rd party brokers for pick-up and record outbound orders in a log.
6. Verify bills of lading for accurate weights and counts.
7. Operate industrial equipment safely including a pallet jack, forklift, banding tool, tape machine and stretch wrap machine.
8. Confer and coordinate with other departments to resolve any shipping issues as required.
9. Maintain clean and orderly receiving, shipping and inventory areas.
10. Train personnel to keep them current on procedures and work instructions.
11. All other assignments as requested by management.
Skills and Competencies:
1. Must be able to follow written, oral instructions and be able to maintain and follow-through on work assignments.
2. Must be knowledgeable with outbound freight logistics for small parcel (UPS/FedEx), LTL, FTL, CPU, etc., including, but not limited to freight classification, differing carrier requirements, etc.
3. Must be able to problem solve with ability and initiative to work independently
4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time, incoming calls, and emails effectively
5. Must be knowledgeable with Word, Excel, Outlook, MAS/ERP, TMS, and RF scanner experience.
6. Must be detailed orientated and have strong organizational, communication, and people skills.
7. Must be proficient in basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division.
8. Must be able to stand or sit for entire shift and repeatedly push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
9. Experience with UPS/FedEx systems preferred.
10. Must be familiar with labeling and shipping compliance requirements.
11. Must be adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
Minimum Education and Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. 2 to 4 years of direct experience in shipping, receiving and inventory control or production required. Experience within a GMP manufacturing environment preferred. Candidate must have experience in managing a team.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
