Summary of Job Description & Key Responsibilities
The Construction Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the management of the construction of new and remodeled restaurants, from initial planning stages to design, construction and ultimately turnover of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
- Work effectively to oversee the build and renovation of restaurants to successfully execute the company’s strategic growth plan.
- Manage the vendor schedule to ensure accurate and timely ordering and delivery of all materials and equipment onsite.
- Work and communicate effectively with internal teams to document and communicate all schedule updates and changes.
- Assist in project, scheduling, organizing, record-keeping and handling information flow between the management team and the contractors, architects, landlords, and vendors.
- Ensure internal databases are continuously updated.
- Coordinate with Landlords and the Accounting Department for satisfying lease conditions and collecting tenant improvement allowance funds.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors.
- Schedule and attend meetings between the project team, vendors, clients, internal departments, and the Project Manager and follow up on action items and decisions made during the meetings
- Assist the Project Management team with administering & executing contracts, change orders, Request for Information (RFI's), and Invitations to Bid.
- Support and assist with project controls efforts, including project cost reporting, scheduling, project work breakdown structure establishment, project set-up and closeout within the accounting system, and field progress tracking.
- Assist with the development of internal and external reports including project budgeting, cost reports, project cash flow forecast, and project status reports to all stakeholders.
- Administer project documentation & filing systems
- Assist in processing contractor and vendor payments and set up vendor accounts with account payable.
- Assist in obtaining and tracking permits, licenses & insurance for projects
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction experience with at least 2 years in the restaurant industry.
- Strong communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact with internal partners, architects, general contractors, permitting jurisdictions and third-party vendors.
- Must be a self-starter with an attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Able to adapt and interact professionally with all levels of the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft office products and/or management software.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, highly organized, detailed oriented, ability to be self-starter, work independently and in a team environment
