Polsinelli PC, is seeking an Intellectual Property Paralegal specializing in Patent Prosecution in either our Houston, DC or Clayton (St. Louis) offices. This position can be a hybrid role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinating and filing of global patent portfolios (including U.S. Non-Provisional and Provisional Applications; Track 1 Application; continuing application; Design Applications; U.S. National Stage Filings; PCT Filings; PCT Nationalization Filings; Convention Filings, as well as coordinate foreign filing responsibility).
- Written and verbal communications with clients, foreign agents and USPTO personnel.
- Reviewing and organization of patent files; review docket deadlines.
- Preparing documents including, but not limited to Notice to File Missing Parts, Foreign Signature Documents, U.S. Formal Documents, responses to Office Actions, Issue Fee Transmittals, and Information Disclosure Statements.
- Preparing, maintaining and updating reports for clients regarding status of applications and patents, including reporting receipts for applications, publication notices, etc.
- Perform research and compile data as requested, such due diligence reports.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS
- Knowledge of USPTO, PCT, and foreign rules and procedures
- Understanding of IP docket and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proficient in ePCT
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe)
REQUIREMENTS
- 5 years IP experience
- Docketing knowledge and experience, with CPi software preferred
- Paralegal Certificate or degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
