About the role:
As an Extrusion Production Technician, you will work with other operators to ensure the production line is running smoothly and efficiently. Through teamwork, you will play a direct role in maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring that finished goods are free from defects. You will also be a contributor to the sites overall continuous improvement plans along with maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPI) in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and sustainability.
What you will do:
- Maintain product quality by adhering to quality policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Read and understand moderate to complex drawings, diagrams or blueprints to guide you through the manufacturing process.
- Adhere to all practices on Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
- Assist in machine setup and positioning for production runs.
- Under the supervision of a Team Lead or Management Representative, operate extrusion machinery and troubleshoot as needed to manufacture products with tight tolerances.
- Assist in run changes and cleaning of extrusion machinery.
- Stand in close proximity to extrusion machinery to spot any visual defects during production runs.
- Assist in the manufacturing of sub-assemblies and developmental work.
- Move, transport or stage raw materials during pre-run or post-run operations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and experience with using an ERP system.
Other Duties
- Follows established safety requirements and adheres to the Health Safety and Environment Management System.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment to complete manufacturing tasks.
- Use precision measuring devices and basic math skills to ensure finished goods adhere to product specifications.
- Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
Who you are:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent; in the absence of a diploma or 4-year degree, applicable years of experience are required
- Effective communication skills, ability to prioritize tasks and pay attention to detail
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and or as part of a team
- General knowledge of working in a regulated manufacturing environment, including knowledge about cleanrooms and gowning procedures
- General knowledge of GMP and GDP requirements
- Basic math and measurement ability
