RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing the daily activities of employees in an effort to improve sales and profits.
- Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies.
- Creating inviting, fresh, and shoppable departments.
- Personal Involvement with Ordering in all departments and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Managing margin and overall departmental profitability.
- Ensuring in-stock through areas of responsibility/conditions exceed company standards.
- Extending and following up on special orders.
- Merchandising side counters, and endcaps, and creating WOW displays.
- Managing and participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, price reductions, stocking, and backstock.
- Training and monitoring department personnel including delegating, following up, and following through on all tasks.
- Working with department managers to cross-train staff to accomplish all needed tasks.
- Working with other store managers and the store director to address performance and/or disciplinary issues within the store.
- Opening and closing of the store
- Involvement and working knowledge of all register functions including backup cashiering, managing customer returns, addressing customer complaints, and covering register shift changes, including those for scheduled breaks.
- Maintaining the safety and security of customers and employees.
- Answering customer questions per company policy and procedures.
- Continually increasing product knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of previous experience in a grocery retail environment as a store manager is required
- Ability to pass food safety training courses and/or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance by keeping certifications up to date and registered if applicable
- Ability to manage changing priorities and to stay focused on the task at hand
- Sense of urgency in the completion of tasks
- Excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and follow through until completion
