The Communications Manager leads the strategy and implementation of store communications. This role creates plans to increase employee awareness of key information and promote engagement between our field operators and corporate teams. 

The Communications Manager ensures employees at the field and corporate levels are aware of key changes and project updates. He/she will distribute executive messages, prepare presentations, internal memos, and conduct meetings to share information. He/she may develop electronic and print materials and explore creative and innovative approaches to engaging the audience. 

This position is responsible for creating and disseminating an internal weekly newsletter to corporate and field employees. In addition, the Communications Manager continuously explores other modalities (e.g., short videos, recorded webinars) to reach the target audience.

This position is an individual contributor without direct reports. Peer leadership and leading by influence are critical to being effective in this role.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead the internal communications function and make necessary strategy adjustments in conjunction with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders.
  • Plan, edit, and write content for a variety of internal communications mediums.
  • Implement communication plans to increase employee brand awareness.
  • Ensure employees are kept informed and motivated by communicating through several channels, such as staff intranet, email bulletins, and audio/video media.
  • Assist with gathering data/communication/speaker notes for leadership calls and post on company intranet.
  • Draft and publish all store-facing communications.
  • Deliver creative support for employee marketing initiatives, including print, digital, and video content.
  • Monitor and report on newsletter viewership from the field and present information to leadership.
  • Manage “look and feel” of internal intranet and oversee content management of all posted materials
  • Partners with Director of Training & Communications as well as SVP of Store Operations on annual operational metrics.
  • Leads cross functional team with IT, BI, and Product to implement changes in intranet, through printed materials and document changes in a timely manner.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am. to 5:00 pm. This position might occasionally require long hours and weekend work.
