Registered Nurse (RN) Part Time in Obstetrics Unit at Northwest Health - Porter Hospital
- Full time: 24 hours per week, 12 hour shifts

About this unit:
Porter is a Level III Obstetrical Service and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit which certifies that the hospital is capable of providing specialty management of severe maternal/fetal complications.
Porter is pleased to offer Northwest Indiana's first 24/7 OB emergency department (OB ED). This service enhances patient safety and care by ensuring that a board-certified physician specializing in obstetrics and gynecology. Nurses in this unit can expect to care for patients experiencing the following:
- Concern about pre-term labor
- Pelvic pain
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Urological conditions, such as bladder infections or urinary tract infections
- Conditions related to high-risk pregnancy (example: high blood pressure)
OB works closely with L&D, PEDs, and Postpartum units. Candidates should expect to float to these units as needed and maintain the skills necessary to work in each area.

Education:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) required, BSN preferred.
Certifications & Licenses
- Current unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Indiana
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification.
- Maintain N.R.P. Certification.
- Fetal monitoring education upon completion of orientation.
Experience:
- Previous experience in maternal services preferred.
