We are seeking an organized and self-motivated Procurement Specialist who will be responsible for providing procurement support to our company.
Location: Cranbury, NJ
Responsibilities:
Lead Purchase Orders Execution:
- Take ownership of executing purchase orders for goods or services required for business operations.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely order placement and fulfillment.
- Verify order accuracy and completeness, including quantities, specifications, and pricing.
Purchase Request Tracker Maintenance:
- Maintain a comprehensive tracker of purchase requests, recording details such as request date, item description, quantity, and requester information.
- Update the tracker regularly to reflect the status of each purchase request
Cost-saving Opportunities Identification:
- Analyze procurement data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process optimization.
- Take initiative in negotiating favorable pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to achieve cost reductions while maintaining quality standards.
Category Management and Spend Analysis:
- Conduct category management activities to effectively manage spending across different procurement categories.
- Perform spend analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for strategic sourcing and cost containment initiatives.
Order-related Problem Solving:
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving any issues or discrepancies related to orders, such as late deliveries, damaged goods, or invoice errors.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of direct experience in procurement or supply chain management. Pharmaceutical, Nutrition or biotech industry is required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in commercial awareness and negotiating skills, with a track record of achieving cost savings, flexibility, and adaptability to manage shifting priorities.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to conduct data analysis and derive actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
