Retail Manager
Pots & Plants, an exclusive boutique garden center and nursery is now hiring for a Retail Manager. Located in the heart of Great Falls and specializing in everything green, we have become a vital part of the community by offering a variety of plants, merchandise, and landscape services. Our garden center has an extensive variety of indoor plants, statuary, garden products, pottery, produce, and hard goods. Our nursery specializes in boxwoods from top growers around the country.
Position Purpose:
The environment here is fast-paced and our operations are continually evolving. We are looking for a highly motivated professional, who is qualified and devoted to managing our retail operations, including merchandising, inventory control, POS management, managing retail staff, and working with the marketing and facilities managers to ensure an extraordinary customer experience.
Position Functions and Responsibilities:
- Recruitment, hiring, and training of new staff full/part-time and seasonal positions
- Build a well-balanced team of motivated and committed members
- Discipline and terminate, as necessary, employees who are underperforming
- Maintain employee schedules for daily and seasonal operations
- Complete and maintain monthly inventories for all merchandise
- Oversee purchasing and onboard new merchandise
- Research current market trends and develop relationships with new vendors
- Assist marketing to develop and implement seasonal activities, events, and classes to create additional revenue
Ideal Requirements:
- 5 years of retail management experience (Having a working background in landscaping or horticulture is preferred)
- Strong knowledge of software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PhotoShop
- Knowledge and experience with POS retail systems
- Able to multitask and delegate
- Strong communications skills and attention to detail
- Can pass drug screening and background check
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
