Poudre Valley Rural Electric Association is seeking an Engineering Intern who wants an exciting work atmosphere and to be a part of a team dedicated to exceptional service.
This intern will gain experience in a fast-paced, results-focused, team environment while gaining valuable work experience. They will provide assistance and engineering services, support in maintaining and validating the Association’s various engineering systems, mapping systems, electronic assets, and field inspection data; assist in maintaining, verifying, and updating the Association’s databases for GIS and engineering systems by providing assistance to all departments within the Association, with or without reasonable accommodation.
In this internship, you will perform the following duties...
- Conduct data compilation and analysis in various engineering and GIS system applications as directed.
- Assist senior Engineering and GIS Staff in preparing, verifying, and maintaining the Association’s GIS databases and mapping systems.
- Assist in conducting quality control on the GIS data and systems.
- Assist with electric system data analysis for loads on the electric system and update system databases.
- Assist in various equipment testing, testing documentation, and maintenance records as directed.
- Assist in field staking and design services.
- Work according to the safety rules and company policies, as adopted by the Association and is responsible for own safety and reports all accidents in accordance with Association policies.

We're looking for someone who…
- High school diploma or equivalent and one to two years’ completion toward a Geographic Information Systems or Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree is required.
- Prior experience drafting, surveying, or mapping is preferred.
- Knowledge of drafting, mapping and geospatial software is preferred. Must be familiar with land descriptions, local, state and federal geo-databases and availability of information systems. Must have sufficient mathematic, algebra and trigonometry training. Must become familiar with the Association’s service territory.
