Civil Engineering Co-op (Overhead Transmission Lines) Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities:
POWER Engineers is currently seeking a talented civil engineering student for a January - August 2025 co-op or for a May 2025-January 2026 co-op in our OH T-Line Engineering department in our St. Louis, MO office. Under the guidance of experienced staff, the successful candidate will learn to design overhead transmission line and substation structures, foundations, and their related facilities.
Candidates must be willing and able to work effectively and efficiently in a hybrid work environment (i.e., remote, office-based, or a combination of the two).

Required Education/Experience
- Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- The candidate must have a strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills to work effectively with internal team members and external clients.
- Candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry.
- Candidate is legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
- Ideal coursework includes structural analysis, concrete, steel, soils, foundations, and surveying.
- Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for the successful completion of tasks.
- Prior internship/co-op and/or related engineering experience is a plus.
- Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position.
- Familiarity with design, drafting, or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc. as well as Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
