What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Lead position at PowerSecure, Inc.?

PowerSecure is hiring a Logistics Lead at our Durham, NC facility. This individual will be responsible for managing the daily inter-site logistics schedule, ensuring equipment is planned and shipped in a timely manner according to a set schedule. They are also responsible for processing transfers/ shipments in IFS and creating spreadsheets with accurate data of all shipments to customers and storage facilities. The focus of this position is to ensure that everything that ships out of the facility has a shop order that is closed, and all paperwork is accurate and updated daily. The expectation of the candidate is to possess exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and reorganize workloads to meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment. The logistics lead will give feedback to routings and timing of SO to ensure that adequate material and equipment movement time is built into the overall manufacturing plan.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment
  • 2 years of logistics, warehousing, or operations experience
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
  • Be able to demonstrate attention to details and follow through
  • High School Diploma preferred
  • Respectful communication skills to support pleasant interactions with a multi-layered workforce.
  • Motivated and organized team player with a positive attitude
  • Must be onsite to work
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to lift to ~50 pounds.
  • Must be to stand, walk, and pull for extended periods of time as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Solid knowledge of inventory control
  • Good understanding of logistics procedures
  • Good understanding of reporting
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • ERP experience is a plus
  • Experienced Excel user
  • Knowledge of project management best practices and tools

Essential Functions:

  • Use IFS to track, check and prioritize shipping schedule
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Report to management on activities and issues
  • Follow up the shop order status
  • Transfer finished goods to a picking location
  • Work closely with the logistics manager and PPMs to set a weekly shipping schedule
  • Keep an accurate count of all stored finished goods
  • Work with the Shipping Supervisor to ensure all weekly goals are met.
  • Other tasks as deemed necessary by Supervisor.
