What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Mobility Partner position at PPG Industries?
As a Global Mobility Partner, you will act as the Mobility Lead for cross border management and process! Working closely with business leaders and HRBP as a trusted partner to review, provide consulting service, implement, lead, coordinate, and communicate mobility related issues globally. Coordinate the full spectrum of issues pertaining to mobility in productive approach, such as, expatriate relocation, domestic relocation, localization, data collection, analysis, benchmarking and reporting, individual income taxation and mobility logistic matters.
Key Responsibilities
Mobility Policy and Administration:
- Keep track with market trend and practice, to feedback, formulate and influence appropriately.
- Make judgments and develop recommendations for program changes to optimize costs and impact.
- Build positive relationships with HRBPs, Business leaders, Legal, Corporate Finance, tax and Security teams.
- Work with service vendors and prepare cost analysis comparison, benchmarking, net-to-gross calculation as supporting to facilitate the decision-making process and work towards the best solution.
- Keep track of up-to-date Mobility trends and practices, related employment/tax/immigration laws and regulations.
- Lead and coordinate with external mobility related suppliers to ensue service levels are met with smooth administration.
Tax, Visa, and Compliance:
- Manage relationship with Law Department (for US immigration).
- Run and optimize value from external vendors.
- Supervise the services of external vendors and ensure high quality relocation services are delivered timely in line with the SLA.
- Advise and update partners on immigration policy change and trends.
- Advise on personal tax planning opportunities and employment structure including crafting tax effective compensation packages and expatriate cost management.
- Advice and explain on Company’s tax equalization arrangement, its implementation and explain the operation and detailed procedures involved to expatriates and HR partners.
- Collaborate closely with China Foreign Exchange Bureau and banks to assist with salary outward remittance in Shanghai.
- Ensure personal taxation, social security, and work visa compliance matters.
- Handle relevant audit cases and collaborate closely with the respective tax / government officials.
- Work closely with Finance Department to supervise cross border activities, keep track travel records to minimize the personal tax and permanent establishment exposures.
- Work with external legal counsel and service providers on employment law, secondment agreements, repay agreement and visa / work permit requirements.
- Management of external vendor on mobility related services implementation, administration, and renewal, including vendor selection, negotiations, and overall expense management.
- Keep track with market trend and practice, to feedback, formulate and influence appropriately on mobility related program and policy development for the benefits of the business.
Qualifications
- Degree holder in Human Resources Management or related subject area.
- Minimum 10 years HR experience, with focus in C&B and mobility, preferable from sizable corporation/MNC.
- Ability to navigate sophisticated organizations and work in a matrix organization.
- Validated functional knowledge of mobility management practices.
- Validated experience in project management.
- International experience and accustomed to working with a global team across time zones.
- Acts with a sense of urgency and dries issue to completion.
- Detailed-minded, high accuracy, self-motivated, strong analytical skills.
- Ability to challenge, influence and build collaborative relationships across business and geographical boundaries.
