What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Supervisor position at PPG Industries?
As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for creating a safe work environment for the employees and maintaining the reliability of the Oak Creek plant equipment and facilities through systemic preventative and corrective maintenance and by problem solving and correcting unplanned break downs.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, assign and oversee work assignments using Maximo
- Supervise mechanic workforce and provides coaching for their growth and continual improvement.
- Leads team meetings and problem solving efforts
- Performance coaching/counseling and serving as a resource for wage employees who service three functional areas defined as Facilities, Paint Production, and Resin Production.
- Tracks performance within the department by key metrics
- Complies with PPG and regulatory requirements including maintaining proper documentation
- Oversee outside contractors utilization
Qualifications
- High school diploma is required. Bachelor’s degree in science or technical area is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as Maintenance Supervisor and is fully trained in all technical aspects of maintenance
- Possess coaching and counseling skills
- Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, open-mindedness, strong customer orientation and facilitation skills
