What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Chemist I position at PPG Industries?
As a Research Chemist, you will conduct formulation, testing of various products, problem-solving, generating written/oral reports, presenting data to customers, and supporting detailed development of formulation practices (DFMEA, design matrices, etc.). You are primarily accountable for the development of new products within the Aerospace organization! Do you like to contribute innovative technical solutions to challenging problems?

- Considered to be a technical specialist in more than one area of chemistry technology, you interact with customer technical and engineering organization informally and formally for ongoing project work and new product launches.
- Application of root cause analysis and the use of Sigma Logic (i.e. design of experiments) methodology to lead resolution of manufacturing and field issues.
- Involved in training and career development of other team members, along with oversight of 5S protocols.
Qualifications:
• BS in Chemistry or related field is required.
- Working experience in a laboratory and proven detailed knowledge of polymer and cross-linking chemistries.
- Strong data administration skills and analytics and the ability to generate and discern reliable data, including presenting technical reports.
