Daily Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members through EMR or verbally.
- Schedule appointments for the physicians, nurse practitioners, testing departments as well as procedures performed at Troy Beaumont Hospital ensuring patient satisfaction. Adheres to guidelines in scheduling as established by practice.
- Obtains insurance cards, driver’s license/form of identification, pertinent forms to practice including financial policy, HIPAA, and authorization for appointment reminders. Scans documentation into EMR.
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly fashion. Reviews magazines monthly in the waiting area and discards if older than three months.
- Verifies benefits for eligibility and copays and notates in the designated demographics area of EMR.
- Reviews confirmation of appointment software for cancellations or for an inability to contact a patient to confirm the appointment.
- Collecting deductibles/copays and notifying patients of their obligation prior to any outside testing being performed in our office.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Medical receptionist: 3 years (Preferred)
- Medical terminology: 3 years (Preferred)
- Insurance verification: 3 years (Preferred)
