Beckley VAMC – Excellent Urology Opportunity
The Beckley Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), located in Beckley, WV, is a 30-bed general medical and surgical facility with a 50-bed Community Living Center (CLC).
We are adding a urology physician to our highly qualified care team. We are seeking a highly motivated BE/BC Urologist who shares our commitment to providing excellent care to our US veterans.
The Beckley VAMC is small enough to connect with the patients but big enough to still have some of the newest equipment available. We foster excellence through mentorship, leadership, and educational programs, giving you the tools you need to serve our Veterans the best.
Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: Authorized to qualified candidates
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA
Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, Subject to change depending on the needs of the service.

- Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in and or manage all aspects of a general urology program, to include clinical, administrative, academic and research components if warranted.
- Manage patient workload within available staffing, which may include support of mid-levels.
- Document progress notes and consultation findings in an electronic medical record, dictation and electronics signature of OP reports and hospital discharge summaries.
- Provide surgical treatment for genitourinary injuries and diseases including major and minor procedures.
