What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operations Coordinator position at Prairie Material?
Summary: Coordinates the recruiting & tracking efforts of operational personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedules interviews for operation recruiting.
- Maintains Applicant Flow Log for Labor positions in Northern Illinois.
- Coordinates Pre-Employment screening required by regulatory or company policies.
- Communicates with job applicants regarding employment and application status. Tracks the hiring pipeline from recruiting through final training.
- Analyzes and creates reports dealing with recruiting and retention as required.
- Recruiting Events Scheduling.
- Conducts new employee orientation
- Maintains Cost/Benefit analysis for operational non-traditional labor functions (safety meetings, training, event participation, etc).
- Assists in operations progressive disciplinary process (tracking, creation, notification & etc).
- Creates training material for operations personnel.
- Assists with Corporate and Regulatory compliance for the operations department.
- Assists in various operational initiatives and projects as required
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read, interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to everyday business situations.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with "concrete" variables. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where standardization exists.
Other Skills and Abilities: Understanding of the recruitment and hiring process.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet (Excel) software and Word Processing software.
Work Environment: Works in a fast paced environment with a need to respond to ever changing scenarios.
