Night Shift Intake Coordinator

Job Summary:Coordinate and schedule detainees for processing. Conduct fact-finding interviews, fingerprint, and photograph detainees, and prepare routine and special correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop, coordinate, and maintain recordkeeping and filing systems.
• Operate and train others in the usage of office automation equipment.
• Conduct orientation for new detainees on unit regulations.
• Coordinate and schedule offenders for processing: conduct fact-finding interviews.
• Coordinate distribution of offender identification paperwork appropriate for agencies.
• Participates in the planning and execution of an agency program.
• Prepare, interpret, and disseminate information on the agency’s programs and procedures; and responds to routine and non-routine inquiries regarding rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Supervises and assists in compiling and analyzing data, in making calculations, and in preparing reports; develops, coordinates, and maintains recordkeeping and filing systems.
• Schedules offenders for diagnostic processing; fingerprints and photographs offenders; conducts fact-finding interviews; prepares routine and special correspondence, reports, studies, forms, and documents.
• Develops, coordinates, and maintains recordkeeping and filing systems; operates and trains others on the office equipment.
• Conducts orientation for new offenders on classification procedures, conduct, and regulations.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Experience in correctional custody or law enforcement is preferred;
• Experience in case processing, report writing, and interviewing is preferred;
• Jailer’s license;
• Valid driver’s license.

• Long periods of continuous standing and walking per shift.
• Frequent periods of sitting for 30 minutes or more.
• Repetitive climbing of stairs to reach the assigned areas and working at heights.
• Occasional kneeling, squatting, and bending to perform “pat” or “strip” searches.
• Frequent grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting.
• Occasionally responding to altercations and occasional restraining and securing assaultive offenders.
• Ability to respond rapidly to potential security and/or medical codes/issues.
• Frequent transferring and transporting offenders by walking or riding in various vehicles such as vans, buses, and other forms of transportation.
• Continuous periods of operating/driving company vehicles to pick up and transport offenders per shift.
• Remaining awake and alert while on duty for per shift.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50-100 lbs.
• Ability to occasionally withstand direct or indirect exposure to OC spray.
• Exposure per shift of outdoor elements and temperatures with scheduled breaks.
• Ability to hear and understand verbal communication.
