Insurance Customer Service Representative

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Examines and evaluates documents such as application forms, inspection reports, product brochures and other data to determine degree of risk, underwriting and market selection.
• Accepts, prices and binds insurance within underwriting authority.
• Prepares submissions; markets and negotiates with insurance companies on individual accounts.
• Communicates by correspondence or in person with account executives and clients to obtain additional information, quote rates or service existing accounts.
• Assists the producers and support staff in resolving problems and questions.
• Other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

• Strong working knowledge of personal lines policies with the ability to explain them to customers.
• A professional phone and in-person presence.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers from multiple companies.
• Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard practices.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Delaware Insurance Agent's license is required. Strong emphasis will be given to previous work experience in the industry.

Education/Training/Experience: Minimum of one to three years of personal lines experience
