A Sprayer is responsible for correct application of glazes to tile and other product and the Loader is responsible for loading and unloading the glaze kilns. The main function of this blended role is to apply glazes as directed and prepare the glazed tile for loading into the kiln furniture. In addition, this role assists will all other aspects of glaze and loading procedures to meet production deadlines successfully.

The Role:

· Applies glazes to tile and hands off to kiln loaders following priorities

· Reads work orders to confirm correct materials and completes required job paperwork

· Tests glazes to find the right coverage, temperature, and surface, and adjusts accordingly to produce a high-quality finished product

· Notifies manager of bisque or glaze needs for jobs

· Maintains spray pots, spray guns, spray booths and scales in good operating condition, working with the Maintenance Team as needed

· Prepares glazed product to be loaded into the kiln furniture with proper handling and wiping techniques

· Classifies and sorts prepared tile according to temperature

· Continually works to use best practices and techniques to minimize loss

· Pressure washes set up boards

· Maintains clean working environment and participates in clean up and maintenance activities

· Performs other duties as requested by supervisor or management

What we are looking for from you to ensure a great fit:

· Ability to perform spraying and loading functions effectively in a fast-paced, multiple deadline, team environment

· Excellent hand/eye coordination and can stand for up to 8 hours a day with frequent arm movement

· Ability to operate a spray gun, spray pot and booth scales

· Detail oriented with strong reading, writing, and math skills

· Excellent communication skills

· Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a wide variety of personalities.

Working Conditions

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and to move about. The employee is frequently required to operate various manufacturing equipment. The employee is regularly required to observe, identify, detect, and communicate by exchanging information and expressing themselves. The employee may occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and, with assistance, move, transport and/or position up to 100 pounds. The employee may be required to wear a respirator.

This is a full-time job with daytime hours; Monday – Friday or Tuesday - Saturday

Starting pay range: 17.00-18.50 dependent upon experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.50 per hour
