Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Control professional to be responsible for performing quality audits on metal and welding fabrication work, system assembly and functional testing work that is performed on a daily basis. He/she will develop and maintain product control plans, drive quality system performance and lead system audits. The Quality Control professional is also responsible for the resolution of product issues and customer support.
Duties:
- Develops and maintains control plans and lead new/current product
- Perform quality checks on fabrication and assembly work, documenting the findings
- Maintains an organizing filing structure of audit reports
- Assumes responsibility for technical responses to customers on quality issues; lead investigations and drive corrective actions
- Works with the National Board, ASME, shipyard and customer inspectors to complete audits and inspections
- Liaises with Suppliers during visits, conduct process/system audits
- Tracks and resolves open issues pertaining to new product launches, develop control documents and other Customer/Supplier required quality documentation
- Provides written technical responses to Customers on quality issues, i.e. CAR
- Visits supplier sites, working to continually work on improvement plans
- Leads and supervises material quality, IQC, MRB, new material activities
- Leads internal audits
Experience:
- Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with welding quality standards
- Experience with quality management systems and auditing processes.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments and calipers.
- Experience in a supervisory role or leading a team.
- Experience with Calypso software is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of quality assurance and quality management principles.
- Experience with quality systems and auditing processes.
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and calipers.
- Ability to collect and analyze quality control data.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and quality control procedures.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
