GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK

As a dispatcher your main function is to supervise the activities of the motor coach operators to insure that we provide the highest quality of service to our customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS

• Schedule the use of motor coaches and driver assignments
• Determine which vehicles to use based on passenger movement requirements
• Schedule repair and maintenance of vehicles
• Determine transportation routes by supplying graphic maps or written directions for drivers
• Prepare driver’s orders
• Prepare reports about fuel used, miles driven, and number of vehicles in need of repair
• Receive incoming calls
• Coordinate emergency requests and dispatch response
• Record details of calls, dispatches, and messages and maintains logs and files
• Project a professional image and self-confidence that inspires confidence and trust
• Manage time effectively and prioritizes task to meet deadlines.
• Weekly on-call rotation

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D.) required
Commercial Drivers License / Class B with Passenger Endorsement preferred
Experience in motor coach industry preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/REQUIREMENTS

Duties performed in an office environment. Physical activities are required, such as but not limited to reaching, stooping, lifting up to approximately 25 pounds, and occasional lifting of equipment weighing up to approximately 25 pounds may be required. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work.

EVALUATION

The Operations Manager will evaluate performance on the ability and effectiveness in carrying out the above responsibilities.
