What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Manager position at Premier Food Service?
The Human Resources (“HR”) Manager has overall responsibility for the HR function as it relates to all Premier Food Service (“PFS”) team members, including employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, development, implementation and administration of PFS’s human resources programs and employment policies, personnel record-keeping, workers compensation and team member safety issues, training and workforce development, and compliance with HR laws and regulations. The HR Manager must be open and available to discuss human resources matters with the entire workforce. The HR Manager reports to the Vice President, but also works with the President/Owner to administer PFS’s benefits program, address employee safety issues, and oversee PFS’s third party administrator and outside counsel.
Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
Maintain employee personnel files in database and physical files
Facilitate performance reviews, performance improvement plans, and documentation of accountability
Manage pre-employment background checks, candidate experiences, vendor processing, and temporary staffing vendor relationships
Process and maintain appropriate weekly, monthly and yearly reports
Process wage and employment verification forms
Support Talent Acquisition by posting job openings, attending career fairs, reviewing resumes and scheduling/conducting interviews
Assist with development of Premier Food Service’s talent pipeline through local networking, creation of talent matrices and monitoring and quickly responding to changes in attrition rates
Coordinate staffing for special events such as WSU games and summer concessions
Assist with employee new hires, changes and terminations; prepare necessary paperwork
Lead the benefit enrollment process
Process and provide reports related to Human Resources, Benefits, Safety and Wellness
Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries/requests and provide assistance
Coordinate the Premier Food Service Safety and Wellness Programs
Coordinate company events and communications related to the Human Resources role
Administer FMLA and other leave management
Coach management in employee relations issues
Ensure the completion of accident investigations and prepare reports for insurance carrier
Act as company liaison for Worker's Compensation
Coordinate 401k enrollment
Ensure that Premier Food Service meets all regulatory requirements to maintain compliance with employment laws
Work with office-based team to support the shared front office responsibilities such as answering phones and greeting visitors
Coordinate with Managers and Directors to staff special projects
Work on special projects and other assignments as requested
Provide input in developing strategies to support goals and objectives
Develop and build a team atmosphere among staff
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field is preferred
Regular work hours 8am - 5pm Monday - Friday
Available to work occasional weekends and evenings
Working knowledge of recruiting processes, procedures and applicant tracking systems is strongly preferred
Working knowledge of laws and regulations related to employment, benefits, safety and other human resources functions
Able to organize and prioritize tasks while maintaining the utmost level of confidentiality
Ability to quickly respond to common inquiries or complaints
Exhibit candor and business acumen when working through personnel issues
Detail oriented
High degree of personal discretion
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work well with others
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Customer service oriented
2 years related experience
Ability to provide timely, consistent, and accurate service & support
Ability to provide prompt and professional communication
Travel up to 10%
