Position Summary
General Summary/Responsibilities:
The Athletic Performance Specialist assumes a collaborative role on the interdisciplinary sports medicine team. The Athletic Performance Specialist will work as an Athletic Trainer and will be responsible for sports and human performance programs. The individual will be responsible for day to day operations to ensure maximum efficiency. The Athletic Performance Specialist will provide testing and evaluation of physical performance factors for each client, athletic conditioning program design, instruction, and supervision of clients.
This individual will provide on-site athletic training coverage at designated schools and community events as directed. The Athletic Performance Specialist will provide prevention, clinical evaluation and diagnosis, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, re-conditioning, organization and administration under the direction of a physician. The Athletic Performance Specialist will be responsible for documentation per Premier Health standards, professional practice activities, public speaking, and cost management. This individual is professionally responsible for demonstrating excellent customer service and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the sports medicine team.

- National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification as Certified Strength Conditioning Specialist 12 months upon hire.

Essential Duties & Functions
- The Athletic Performance Specialist is responsible for the implementation of the Sports Performance and Strength Management programs in conjunction with the AT managers, Sports and Human Performance Coordinator, Medical Directors, physicians, physical therapists, and orthopedic consultants.
- Properly assess, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries under the direction of a physician and standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for registration, billing and scheduling of clients.
- Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: program coordination, protocol development, service promotion and outreach, and the quality and productivity of the program for the integrated network.
- State and health system compliance with the completion and maintenance of all documentation is expected for the incumbent and those employees operating within the program.
- The Athletic Performance Specialist is responsible for his/her own professional development, staying abreast of new and evolving technologies, passing all required hospital/department competencies and related testing, and for creating an environment that projects a positive and healthy image.
- Provide exemplary customer service to all customers, family members, and other visitors.
