Premier Surgical Center, an Ophthalmology based surgery center, located in Erie, PA is looking for a Registered Nurse to join their team.
Position Title: Perioperative RN
Position Summary: This is a Per Diem position that will work on average 1- 2 days per week (no weekends or late nights) as business needs. Typical hours are: 6am-2:30pm or 7am -3:30pm
This position will assist in the organization's daily function of the surgical center in accordance with established federal, state and accreditation standards and facility policies and procedures. Assists in overseeing patient care activities during the perioperative process while maintaining a high standard of safety practices for the patient and other staff members.
Minimum Requirements:
Current Pennsylvania RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Two (2) years experience as an operating room nurse preferred.
IV skills required

Knowledge: Working knowledge and experience in hospital or ambulatory surgical center operating room. Ability to adhere to work schedule and manage time appropriately. Ability to utilize resources in a timely, organized and cost effective manner. Ability to circulate all types of cases preferred. Monitors stock levels, outdated supplies and equipment needs and reports appropriately.

Clinical Skills

surgical intervention.
o Performs perioperative teaching to patient/significant other.
o Demonstrates appropriate nursing management and intervention in the perioperative

o Performs preoperative patient assessment, reviews surgeon preference card, assesses
equipment/supply needs, prepares operating room, ensures availability of needed
supplies and equipment and proper and safe working order.
