Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Events Associate to join the Events Marketing team at Preqin, the alternative assets industry’s leading source of data, intelligence, and solutions. This role is based in our New York office. Reporting to the Head of Events, the Events Associate will work as part of a busy global events marketing team, taking responsibility for supporting our global events partnership program, supporting our webinars as well as assisting with US-based hosted events.
This exciting and demanding role requires a confident, proactive individual, prepared to take a hands-on approach. We’re looking for someone with 2-3 years of previous experience in corporate events marketing and/or planning and delivery of webinars. Our ideal candidate will be a strong team player, have a learning mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for corporate events.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the events team to provide full support on all sponsored, in-person and digital events
- Support Event Partnerships Manager in managing and negotiating event partnership contracts, scheduling partner adverts, updating the website, and shipment coordination
- Support the Digital Events Manager in research, planning and delivery of all virtual events
- Maintain inventory of stock for the department and order branded conference materials and give-aways as needed
- Research and reporting on competing events schedule
- Use of email, social media and other appropriate marketing channels for conference-related marketing
- Analyse and maintain up-to-date records of all partnerships and monitor feedback from events on an ongoing basis to help inform future partnerships.
- Attend relevant conferences to conduct field marketing, help generate leads, manage booth traffic and research further ways to improve and maximise Preqin’s presence at industry events
- Manage other ad-hoc projects as directed by the Head of Events
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in events, marketing, or a related field (preferably with a financial organisation or professional services)
- Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Willingness to be a team player and consistently interact with US Sales, peers, clients, and senior stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic priorities
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, as well as adapt to changing priorities in a positive and professional manner
- An interest in, and willingness to develop and maintain knowledge of, the financial industry as well as in keeping up to date on the company’s products, customers, and marketplace
- Highly organized, with the ability to tackle multiple tasks at once
- An excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and familiarity with Client Relationship Management (CRM) and marketing (Pardot) tools
- The role will require occasional early mornings and late nights and some travel
