Prevention and Trainings Services is looking for Facilitators or Counselors for a multitude of areas: Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse, and Moral Recognition Therapy.

General description:

Under general direction of the Clinical Supervisor or Head of DV department to plan, coordinate, and provide instruction/counseling for program clients.

Facilitator/Counselor will be required to attend and observe one of our on-going programs to experience how it operates, monitor and record attendance, occasionally collect and record fees from clients, follow curriculum provided, scribes session notes in order to write reports, case counsel with head of department, address all emails or phone inquiries from clients or referring agents within 24 hours of receiving, may conduct intakes, crisis intervention, client education, individual and group counseling.

Education and Experience:

Substance Abuse - Masters of Arts in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Guidance and Counseling with experience or educational specialization in substance abuse treatment or a bachelor degree in above disciplines with a Certified Addictions Counselor (CADC) or Certified Advanced Addictions Counselor (CAADC) or continuing work toward same in a developmental plan.

Domestic Violence- Associates and/or Bachelors and former instructional experience.

MRT- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, social work, sociology, criminal justice and counseling with experience or educational specialization in substance abuse. Will need to have or complete the MRT training and certification.

Preferred that all have training or experience with adjudicated individuals involved with the courts. Knowledge of related issues.

Skills: Correct English language usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Knowledge of report writing and proofreading. Experience with Microsoft outlook and Word or Adobe. Be able to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing to a diverse group of people. Ability to speak to large groups. Identifying client issues and aiding in resolving them.

Hours and Pay: Starting at $18 per hour based on experience. This is a part-time supplemental income job, generally a few hours per week. Groups run same time, same day weekly, but as to the time the group runs can be negotiated.
