Primary Services is excited to announce the role of AR Analyst for our client, a leader in the financial services industry. This role is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely posting of cash to customer accounts and the general ledger, impacting customer satisfaction and maintaining precise accounts receivable records. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience in finance and exceptional problem-solving skills to thrive in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, test, and implement improvements to mitigate risks and enhance cash application timeliness, accuracy, and completeness
- Record payments (lockbox, ACH, IVRs, Direct Debits, Wires) to customer accounts accurately and promptly, adhering to cash application policies and procedures
- Ensure daily and accurate application of exceptions (payments not processed through automation)
- Research unsupported payments with customers and colleagues from Collections & Customer Experience for proper posting
- Resolve misapplied and/or unapplied payment issues with urgency
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and organized accounts receivable reconciliations for customer and internal requests
- Complete requests from other departments via Salesforce.com and email in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in and assist with ad-hoc projects as needed
- Perform outreach to customers to change payment behavior when necessary
- Handle other projects and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or another analytical discipline; in lieu of a degree, 3 years of relevant experience may be considered
- Attention to detail and strong analytical abilities with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
- Proficiency with business systems and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Knowledge of North American gas and power markets competitors is an asset
