Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tour Planner to join our dynamic and growing team. As a Tour Planner, you will play a crucial role in designing and producing custom tours for our clients. This role requires a keen eye for detail, diligent follow-through, the ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Custom Tour Curation: Design and build personalized tours that cater to the specific needs and interests of our clients including accommodations, transportation and activities.
- Contract Management: Request, review, negotiate, and manage contracts with suppliers, vendors, and partners to secure approved terms and conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure all aspects of the tour are meticulously planned from accommodations and transportation to activities and dining.
- Efficient Follow-Up: Maintain regular communication with vendors, ensuring that all arrangements are confirmed and any issues are promptly addressed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members in an open concept office to coordinate tour logistics, share insights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our services.
- Speed and Efficiency: Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Self-Starter: Take initiative in identifying opportunities to enhance our tour offerings, streamline processes and research what you don't know.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly resolve any issues that arise during the planning or execution of a tour, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our clients.
- Analytical Skills: Must possess strong analytical skills to thoroughly read, interpret, and identify critical details such as deadlines, deposit requirements, and unfavorable terms within complex hotel, bus, and tour vendor contracts.
Qualifications:
- 2 years proven experience in tour planning, travel coordination, or a related field (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality Management, Communications, English or a related field (preferred).
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
- Passion for travel and knowledge of and/or willingness to research travel destinations and cultural nuances.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
