About this Position

The Video Editor I performs a variety of multimedia post production operations, including editing both long and short form video, audio editing and mixing, graphic design and motion graphics animation, and green screen keying and other forms of compositing. This position works closely with assigned producers and managers to produce creative and informational videos meeting industry quality standards and workflow requirements of the departments. This position requires creativity but also a strong adherence to technical specifications.

Salary Range: $50K - $60K

This is a Hybrid role. Must be able to be in office on Monday's. Candidate must be willing to travel.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Editing Projects

• Edit together video, audio, still imagery and motion graphics for creative and informational multimedia projects at the oversight/direction of producers or managers.
• This includes the necessary knowledge of video production software, understanding of various video and audio formats, knowledge of production and post-production workflows, and an adherence to industry quality standards.

Creative Element Design

• Use of edit tools to combine text, video and other elements onscreen to create logical, coherent layouts with emphasis on important elements.
• The video editor should be able to follow direction from producers and managers, while collaborating with creative ideas.

Adhering to Workflows and Guidelines

• Adhere to established workflows and guidelines in order to keep work between editing teams consistent and professional, and all audit requirements met.
• This includes following workflow documents and templates, and being able to decide which workflow paths are most appropriate for their projects.
• This also requires having a strong attention to detail for correct spelling and formatting.

Organization and Communication

• Take initiative to look ahead and prepare for upcoming projects, as well as look behind and tie up any loose ends from completed projects as they follow all organizational and audit routines necessary for the department.
• This requires clear communication with producers, managers and other team members from one project to the next.

Other Production Roles as Needed

• Video Editors are part of a production team that may require their assistance in other areas at times.
• Some other responsibilities may include being a production assistant, a camera operator, a live event switcher or floor director, etc.
• These roles may be in the home office or at other remote locations.
• Working Knowledge of French and or Spanish a plus but not required.
