Job Title: Full Charge Bookkeeper
Job Summary: The Bookkeeper will report to the President and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The Bookkeeper will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management, payroll processing, and deal analysis and negotiations, investor relationships and partnership compliance and private and institutional financing.
Essential Functions:
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and manages outsourced functions.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.
- Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Responsible for full cycle accounts receivable including collections and billing.
- Responsible for full cycle accounts payable.
- Multiple bank reconciliations and record keeping.
- Issue timely and complete financial statements.
- Detailed analysis and preparation of reports for the President of the company.
- Payroll for all full-time employees including 1099s, and 941’s tax reporting and oversee temporary employee payroll.
- Meet and interact with both the tax accountant and CPA as needed.
- Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Responds to inquiries from the President of the company and other Managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests and any other requests of the management team.
- Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
- Verify hours and vacation information, process full-time new hires, terminations, insurance, and all employee data changes, process employee verifications and garnishments, process EDD requests.
- Perform various assignments for branches as directed by the President.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalency in work experience or education required
- 10 years’ experience in a senior financial managerial position
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and financial reporting software
- Exceptional communication skills, Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Results-oriented, strategic thinker and planner, problem solving/analysis
- Financial management, business acumen, ethical conduct, leadership
- Performance Management.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data, and things to determine courses of action

Physical Job Description:
Typical Working Conditions: Office environment-no-unusual exposures. Overtime requirements as needed.
Equipment Used: Computer keyboard, monitor, fax, copy machine, printer, telephone.
Essential Physical Tasks: Walking in the facility when needed.
Physical Demands Frequency: Frequent 34% to 66% typing, talking, and hearing. Constant more than 66% of the time sitting. Occasional 1% to 33%, walking on normal surfaces, standing, kneel, squat, fingering (fine dexterity), handling (grasping, holding). Rarely (Less than 1 hour per week) lifting/carrying under 10lbs, driving.
